The new iPhone firmware is available on iTunes right now. This update supposedly has several bug fixes, but not 100% sure what was fixed. So far I’m hearing that others have had a significant increase in speed on page flipping on Safari, as well as faster sync times on iTunes. I haven’t tested this firmware out yet, but will update this post as I explore. I’m really hoping this fixes the dreaded keyboard typing delay. Go out and get it now! Make sure to backup your iPhone as usual, and the firmware should show up on the iPhone information screen. Enjoy.
Updates:
Since there are mixed responses about which bugs were smashed, we’ll leave it up to the twitter folks. Here is a live feed of discussions on the new Apple 2.0.1 firmware.

I’ve been living in Naples, FL for about five years now, and like many have not visited every shop in town. Who would anyway? Let’s say I have family come into town and want to take them somewhere nice for dinner, but am not sure which is the best. That’s where our good website Yelp comes in. Yelp is nothing new really, but I still enjoy mentioning it, because it does exactly what it was meant to do, allow you and people around you to rate and review… well, your world. From restaurants, bars, night clubs, hairstylists, shops, and more, Yelp gives you the ability to search in your local town to see what others are saying about that restaurant you were about to stop in.
Another great feature is the new iPhone app.

With the iPhone app you can:
- Search for businesses near you using the iPhone’s built-in location finder
- Tap quick links to find nearby bars, restaurants, cafes and more
- Narrow your searches by neighborhood, distance, price, and what’s open now
- Browse reviews to read what’s great (and not so great) in your city
- Look up addresses and phone numbers for thousands of businesses, then call or map them straight from your iPhone
Yelp has a pretty big community with new reviews every day. I highly suggest checking this out, and writing up a few reviews yourself.
As you can see on the picture, the problem with the missing followers seems to be fixed :

I invite you to check your numbers of followers by yourself by going on Twitter Counter.

Happen to wake up this morning, grab your cup of joe, load up your Twitter, and notice half your followers are gone? Well, you are not the only one! According to ReadWriteWeb, Twitter released there own tool out into the twitter world to help bash spammers. As with any tinkering with the twitter servers, the service crashed giving us a wonderful view of our beloved fail whale. This crash caused many users to lose a hefty amount of followers.
Twitter’s status page informs us that they are still working on bringing the followers back and that we will be seeing inacurate view counts. The staff says that even after they fix the problem, your stats may still not be the same. This is due to their counts on your profile page not always being up to date. So, hold on tight to the fail whale as he brings us back to Twitter land. ETA? No clue :)

Free Download of the Day: Double Driver
So, we all have that time where we just need to do a clean install of our system. Unfortunately, for some, we lost our cd full of the drivers for your desktop or laptop. Fear not my geeks, for I have found the solution. This wonderful tool Double Driver, created by Boozet, allows you to see the current hardware drivers installed as well as create backups. This software is actually pretty easy to use out of the box, and works well for those times when you can’t find the drivers for that old hardware you have. I know I’ve had problems finding audio drivers for this old IBM I test software on. With a few clicks you are on your way to a fresh install and those tasty drivers you almost left behind!
